"We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's evening. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true." --Woodrow Wilson Expertise: Writing, drawing, being a friend and working for The Optimist! :) Occupation: Student Industry: Media

| Well... you might want to add this new web site to your favorites. Good bye xanga. Hello little miss blogger. http://jaymesmith-jls.blogspot.com/ Make sure you comment too. God bless. Thanks xanga. | | |
| I'm walking to my morning class; I cut through the tennis courts. There are some kids playin' tennis. There are also two guys, who looked a little older than myself, walking around the courts. One of the guys see me. He tells his bud to hold on a minute. He picks up a random tennis ball and walks over toward me. By now I'm thinking, "Oh dear Lord, please don't talk to me even though you're cute." Haha... BIG surprise. So, he says, "Hey, ma'am..." So I, out of politeness, turn around and say, "Yeah?" He looks me straight in the eye and says, "I think you're very pretty." He then proceeds to hand me the tennis ball. "Here, I want you to have this." I couldn't help but laugh; I'm sorry. I couldn't control myself. He turned red and winked... and then ran off. Ha! Aw, what a cute Mexican. Now I just have to figure out what to do with this tennis ball... So, I've reached a point in my life (if you've kept up with my entries it seems like I'm always "reaching a point in my life") where I'm saying goodbye to xanga. Oh, I'll still keep it for sentimental reasons, but I've decided to get one of those blog thingies... uh, yeah, like "blogger" or somethin' like that. I just feel like my writing needs a change. I'll let you know the new and improved web site soon enough. Dude, classes are rockin' right now. This is my best semester of school so far. Teachers are pretty interesting and my writing is getting challenged. I'm meeting a lot of new people too; I love it! Hey, make sure you're picking up The Optimist (at least to read my articles!) or type in my name in the archive box on acuoptimist.com for my articles. Let me take a moment to say that I have the world's greatest friends. I cannot thank God enough for blessing me with each of them!!! I'm running my little legs off lately. My jogging class rocks, well... it's exhausting but good for keeping me young. I've been treating myself to some midnight runs as well. I've worked my way up to two miles without stopping... hey, that's good for me since I haven't ran since high school. Well, I am a busy girl nowadays so schedule an appointment if you wanna chat... ha, riiiiight. I'm out to chat with the best bud over some Starbucks coffee. Leave me some comments and I'll keep y'all updated on my new soon-to-come "blog." Later buds. | | |
| Good friends. I am more than blessed to have amazing comrades--especially at this particular time in my life. I'll admit it; today was one of those crap days. My two best friends had their worst day of the year as well. We all got together around midnight and talked about our crap-filled day. I didn't think there was any cure for a day so full of crap until my two, wonderful friends sympathized with me. Thank you Lord for what may seem as simple as a friendship that can turn a ridiculously bad day into an amazing evening. Call a friend when in need. I couldn't be more blessed to have Olivia and Anya. Thank you God. | | |
| You can't change people; only they can change themselves through God's help and guidance. | | |
| My classes for this fall semester are wicked. I'm still in the process of changing two of them for two others. It's driving me nuts. I'm ready to "settle down" in this whole school mess thing and get going. I'm liking my jogging exercise class so far. I have a lot of my friends in it. I've missed running, as ridiculous as that may sound. I pretty much stopped running when I got to college. I've also been jogging around ACU's new jogging track every night. I'm hoping that my legs will be in good enough shape for soccer try-outs next spring. That's right boys and girls--Jayme's trying out for ACU's first soccer team. I love the sport, and I grew up playing it. Should be fun.
My new apartment flippin' rocks. I'm lovin' everything about it. Yeah, even the three other roommates I live with. We've all been cookin' up a storm every night. It's also great because there's no curfews or "boys visitation." I have friends over all the time. I'm still in the process of pimpin' out my room though. It usually takes me awhile, so it's all good. My new television's lookin' pretty hot in my room. My bathroom colors actually cooridinate for the first time in my life. It's cute. If you haven't been over to check out my place, what are you waiting for?
My "fairy-god-son" (as the Russian momma calls him) or "nephew" is absolutely adorable. His name's Jassir, and he already adores me more than life... which is great. I've been watching him a lot so far and we've had some amazing times together. He's four months old. I am so excited to be apart of his life and blessed to be able to watch him grow.
The other night, one of my best friends from high school called and asked me to be one of her bridesmaids in her wedding next summer. I was very honored. Her and her now fiancee have always been my favorite couple. If they weren't made for one another, I don't know who is. I am so stoked about their wedding. I'm still trying to talk her into letting me perform the wedding ceremony... but she's already got a preacher for the job. We'll just see about that...
Once again, Jayme will be writing for The Optimist. Only this time, two articles will be published in the paper a week. ...Talk about deadlines. We'll see how this goes. Wish me luck. Oh yeah, read my articles... or at least pick up a paper for goodness sake.
Okay, I'm meeting one of my good friend's girlfriends. We'll be hanging out for a bit tonight. Can't wait for the weekend. This first week of school was insane. Good luck with your schooling this fall everyone! Holla back at me if you get the time. P.S. Call me... (325) 738-4691. | | |
